Who am I - Arlien de Vries
My nickname is Arlien de Vries, and my story actually begins with a dream that became reality during the COVID epidemic. As a nurse in the Netherlands, I worked passionately in healthcare for years, but the hectic pace and limitations of the Dutch healthcare system began to increasingly strain me.
From Care to Self-Care
During lockdown, I worked directly in the COVID wards—an intense period that made me realize I was ready for a drastic change. France had always been my heart, and when the opportunity arose to emigrate, I took the plunge.
Here, in the peace and quiet of the Berry region, I finally found the freedom to follow my true passion.
Mijn Passie Werd Mijn Beroep
What began as a hobby—providing holistic treatments in private settings—was finally able to blossom into my life's work. The experience I gained in Dutch healthcare, combined with my love of alternative medicine, now forms the foundation of my practice.
My Spiritual Journey
During a retreat in Scotland, Lama Rinchen Palma gave me my spiritual name: Karma Dechen Drolma. This name, which you'll also find in my logo, represents my spiritual path and the deeper dimension of my work. It symbolizes the connection between my practical caregiving experience and my spiritual development.
A New Mission
With my background in healthcare, I understand better than anyone how important it is to care not only for the body, but also for the mind and soul. In France, I found the space to help people in a deeper, more personal way—away from time pressures and protocols, and toward genuine attention and care.
